Rev. Kenneth Bevan Appointed as Pastor

ken-bevanRev. Kenneth Bevan has been appointed as the new pastor of the Brandon United Methodist Church.  He continues his ministry following the passing of his wife Rev. Kathleen Bevan who served as the church’s pastor for the past 15 years.

Rev. Bevan spent his childhood years in the Lehigh Valley area in Pennsylvania.  He was married in 1969 in Quincy, MA and has three children and two grandchildren.  He graduated from The Salvation Army Seminary in Bronx, NY and continued his education ultimately receiving a master’s degree at Sage Graduate School in Albany NY with a degree in Public Administration of Human Services.

Rev. Bevan served in numerous appointments in PA, OH, MA, and NY as a Salvation Army Officer as well as in the mission field in Africa.  In addition to be a pastor at each community he served in,   he ran a variety of social service programs which included food pantries, soup kitchens, day camps, after school activity programs, a senior citizens center, a homeless shelter, and other programs.

Rev. Bevan served The United Methodist Church in Round Lake, NY and as Pastor in Mendon VT.  Other services included being an activity director for disabled individuals and senior retirement facilities.Rev. Bevan looks forward to the opportunity to shepherd this congregation and members the Brandon United Methodist Church are excited to hear the message of God through him.
